It Is Still Possible
‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house’, says the Lord Almighty. ‘And this place I will grant peace’, declares the Lord Almighty.” Haggai 2:9 (NIV)
Bible Reading:  Mark 10:46-52
Welcome to the last quarter of the year 2021. There is still room to obtain grace for more possibilities. Perhaps you are yet to achieve all your expectations, it is still possible. I have watched the Olympics with such admiration as athletes draw on their strength to finish a race. I’m amazed at the result of such resolution — most times, such athletes finish strong because they believe it is possible to still make something good out of the remaining race. It is this mindset that Bartimaeus, the character in our Bible reading today had and he was blessed for it. Jesus and His disciples were passing by as they went out to Jericho. In fact, it would be one of Jesus’ final visit to Jericho before His crucifixion. Bartimaeus knew this opportunity was important for his healing so he shouted and got Jesus’ attention. Dear friends, it is the last quarter of the year and I encourage you to borrow a leaf from blind Bartimaeus who never gave up but cried out to Jesus. Gather your strength for this final lap— in your pursuit of God, be resolute. Be diligent to seek God daily (Hebrews 11:6). Revisit your goals for the year, revise where needed, and get back to work to fulfil as much goals as you can.
Daily Confession: Father, I receive grace for unlimited exploits as the end of the year draws near.
Intercessory Prayer: Let us pray for all persecuted Christians across the world, that God would strengthen and encourage them.
Hymn: I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
