It Will End in Praise
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11, AMP)
Bible Reading: 2 Kings 4:1-7
Today’s devotional is an encouragement to someone who may be passing through a difficult time. I want you to believe that ‘It will end in praise”. The situation may look dire with no hope in sight. My friend, I’m here to remind you that God is in charge of all things because “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1). God created the heavens and the earth and there’s nothing impossible for Him to do (Luke 1:37). In our Bible reading today, we read of a widow who had no solution to her challenges. Her husband was in the company of the prophets. The man did not only die poor, he left his family in debt and penury. The widow was wise to reach out to Prophet Elisha. We have to learn to pray and seek God’s face because He is the present help in times of need (). Prophet Elisha instructed her on what to do and she obeyed. There was an instant creative miracle, an immense multiplication of the little she had. She gathered vessels from her own household to her neighbours. After she had exhausted all the vessels the oil stopped. She asked Prophet Elisha what she should do and he asked her to sell the oil and use the proceeds to attend to her needs. Her story ended in praise, joy, peace and laughter. Dear friends have faith in God that your situation will end in praise. Instead of complaining, turn to God for help. Obey God’s instruction and you will see your situation turn around for good. If you are yet to give your life to Jesus, here’s an opportunity to embrace His love so that you can access His provision for your life.
Daily Confession: My situation will end in praise.
Intercessory prayer: I speak God’s peace into any family experiencing turmoil in Jesus’ name.
Hymn: Trust and obey
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus
Than to trust and obey
