Lessons from the Ant (An Intro)
Go to the ant, O lazy one; Observe her ways and be wise Proverbs 6:6 (AMP)
Bible Reading:  Proverbs 6:6-11
I grew up with adages from my parents such as ‘a stitch in time saves nine’ and ‘time waits for no one’ . These wise sayings helped me understand how invaluable time is and they encouraged me to do things with a sense of urgency. ‘What you need to do, do it now and don’t postpone it till tomorrow’ my parents would say. I remember a day we had our morning devotion from our Bible reading today, my father spent time explaining how industrious, organized, and timely the ants are. Back in those days when my father starts preaching at morning devotions, he could go on and on without wanting to end. I appreciate God for those teachings that have helped us in many ways.
For the next few days, we will glean some lessons from the ants. Dear friends, as we begin this series, I encourage you to be proactive with your plans. The tendency to procrastinate or even get tired can set in especially when one is not seeing the desired results. Do not give up. Keep doing the right thing. Keep digging, keep believing and keep moving. God is faithful and he will never leave His own to suffer. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. I encourage you not to give in to laziness, rather, depend on God and receive the strength that you need to move forward in Jesus name.
Daily Confession: Lord Jesus I receive strength to move ahead and do all that I need to do in Jesus name.
Intercessory prayer: Choose a family of your choice and intercede for them.
Hymn: Then sings my soul
My Savior, God, to Thee
How great thou art
How great thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior, God, to Thee
How great thou art
How great thou art.
