Looking Unto Jesus

[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work]. [3] Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2-3, AMP

Bible Reading: Hebrews 12:1-2

Apostle Paul commands us to look to Jesus. It was not a suggestion or recommendation, rather an instruction. Jesus is our example and like Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1 ‘imitate me as I imitate Christ’. We have to first look for Jesus (as our Lord and Saviour) because He is the way, the truth and the life. When we come to Jesus (or we find Jesus) then we have to continue to focus on Jesus. Dear friends, we need Jesus. He is the solution to every challenge and no matter the situation, invite Jesus into and you will see change and transformation.

Daily Confession: Lord I focus on Your today in Jesus name. Amen

Intercessory Prayer: I pray for God’s provision and protection over families during this season.

Hymn: I surrender all,

I surrender all,

Unto Thee my blessed Saviour,

I surrender all.
