Meditate on God’s Word
“When I remember You on my bed, I meditate and thoughtfully focus on You in the night watches” (Psalm 63:6, AMP).
Bible Reading: Psalm 63
God will satisfy anyone who hungers and thirsts for Him. Ours is to seek Him, and we will find him. “Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.
(Matthew 5:6 AMP). One of the ways to grow in every aspect of our lives is through meditating on the word of God. God instructed Joshua thus, ‘this Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful. (Joshua 1:8 AMP). In our memory verse, the psalmist reiterates a useful key to growth. He says he meditates and focuses on God even at night. We must learn to focus all our attention on Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith (Hebrew 12:2). Although meditation has been co-opted into many practices, there are 23 occurrences of some translation of the word in the Bible. To meditate on the word of God is to think about it and focus on God. When we meditate on the Bible, we seek to understand, internalize and make God’s word come alive. Dear friends, I encourage you to spend quality time with God’s word by thinking about it to know God more.
Self-Reflection: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law, he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)
Daily Confession: I delight in the law of the Lord, and I meditate on his word continually.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for grace for parents to raise godly generations that will raise the banner of God’s kingdom across the nations in Jesus’ name.
Hymn: Ancient words ever true

Changing me, and changing you.We have come with open hearts

Oh let the ancient words impart.
