More Than Enough
Look at the birds. they don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. and aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Matthew 6:26 NLT
Bible Reading: Matthew 6:19-34
God’s word is refreshing and assuring. As we choose to abide and believe in God’s word, we will learn to take Him at His word no matter the situation or the condition we are. Today’s word is one of those verses that reveals the caring nature of our heavenly Father. Through His words, He speaks to us that we are more than our circumstance. We are loved. We are beloved. We are blessed. We are His. We are more than any life challenge. In Today’s memory verse, Jesus was speaking to his disciples during his sermon on the mount about money and possession. Jesus assures us that we are not to worry about tomorrow because we have our Heavenly Father who cares deeply about us. If God could take care of the birds of the air, how much of His creation– made in His image and in His likeness? If indeed our heavenly Father daily loads us with benefits, and cares passionately about us, then what should be our attitude?
First, we are to be grateful and trusting. We are to focus on Him and let our love for Him consume us. Our treasure should be in heaven where moths cannot destroy. Our attitude should be that of joy– always giving and sharing the love of Christ. Out of the abundance He has given us, we should learn to freely share for God loves a cheerful giver. Finally, if we are in need, we should seek Him and trust Him that He will meet our needs, no matter how small or big it may be.
Daily Confession: Thank you God for Your love in my life. I pray for your grace to show the right attitude in any situation I am and show the love of Jesus Christ, amen.
Intercessory Prayer: I pray for God’s peace across the world in Jesus name.
Hymn: Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
