Daily Devotional – ‘In His Footstep’

Praying in the Holy Ghost
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. (Jude 1:20 KJV)
Bible Reading: Acts 2:1-4
Over the last few days, we examined praying for others and interceding for nations of the world. To make our prayer more effective, we need to pray in the power of the Holy Ghost. This means praying in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives us utterance according to today’s Bible reading. When we pray in tongues, our spirit man is energized, our faith rises, and God’s spirit finds full expression in us. By doing this, our spirit man communicates directly with God, and God is a Spirit.
Praying in tongues is an evidence of being filled with God’s Spirit, and we must covet to pray in tongues and, as we pray, rely on God for utterance.
Daily Confession: I receive grace to pray in the Holy Ghost in Jesus’ name.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for an outpouring of God’s spirit upon the church you attend
Hymn: When the pow’r of God descended
On the day of Pentecost
All the days of waiting ended
They received the Holy Ghost.
Refrain:O Lord, send the pow’r just now;
O Lord, send the pow’r just now,
O Lord, send the pow’r just now,
And baptize ev’ry one.
