Receive the Peace of God
And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. (Philippians 4:7, AMP)
Bible Reading: John 14:25-31
Many things are happening in the world that is causing unrest and instability. From unidentified objects flying over some countries to the unveiling of massive weapons of destruction by some countries, deliberate shortages of cash in some economies leading to suffering and lack, and deadly flooding and earthquakes in different parts of the world etc., These natural and human-made occurrences can cause unhealthy and ungodly human interactions and behaviours, high blood pressure, and transfer of aggression. It can breed an unholy atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to operate. This is why we need the peace of God like never before. We need Jesus because Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). Apostle Paul writing to the Thessalonians says, “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23). The reality is that if the God of peace does not sanctify our heart and keep us from reacting in the flesh to the issues around us, we will become unconducive for the Holy Spirit. Dear friends, I pray for God’s peace in your life today. I speak his peace into any situation of chaos and disorder that your life may be encountering. Regardless of your present circumstance, may your peace be great (Isaiah 54:13). I encourage you to focus on Jesus and enter your rest. Here’s my prayer for you: May you “experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7, NLT)
