Recipe for God’s Direction (II)

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. Proverbs 3:5 [AMP]

Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5-7

The first recipe is to trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all our heart. To trust in the Lord is to believe in the truth, reliability, ability and strength of God. It means to acknowledge and wholeheartedly believe that God is dependable and trust worthy. It means surrendering to God as Lord and Saviour. King Solomon gives us the first ingredient to continuous and guaranteed direction from God. If we truly trust in God, then we will be open and transparent to Him. The working of trust demands that we do not rely on our own strength or understanding, rather submit absolutely to God because we know that we cannot do anything of our own strength but by God. Our humility to submit to God, our consistency to call unto Him, devotion to seek him, willingness to follow his instruction and give Him all the glory become important to this instruction. Dear friends, if we want to truly trust in the Lord with all  your heart, we will do nothing without seeking His face. We will pray unto Him, search His word to know His mind and expect Him to direct us in every aspect of our lives. Here’s how Apostle Paul puts it: “not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.” (2 Corinthians 3:5).

Daily Confession: Lord I trust in you. I depend absolutely on you in Jesus name.

Intercessory Prayer: Pray for the leadership in your place of work for wisdom and grace to lead aright.

Hymn: Trust and obey

For there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus,

Than to trust and obey
