Relationship by Revelation

Which God will bring about his own time – God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. I Timothy 6:15-16

Bible Reading: I Timothy 6: 12-16

Apostle Paul’s dynamic ways of referring to and eulogizing God are remarkable. I believe his perspectives were shaped by his revelation of God. Paul sees God as the All-Sufficient grace (2 Corinthians 12:9), the Father of spirits (Heb. 12:9), the God of the spirits of all flesh (Numbers 27:16), Immortal, Invisible and Invincible, the Ruler of heaven and earth, Keeper of life till eternity (1 Corinthians 1:30). He sees Jesus as God’s wisdom, our righteousness, and our redemption (Colossians 1) etc. These names are beyond titles, rather, they are realities that Paul accessed through revelations from the word of God. They were based on his relationship with God through Christ Jesus. Any revelation of God you access increases your knowledge of Him and should help us to become more like Jesus.

Because we cannot grow beyond our revelation of God‚ revelation is important in our walk with God. It gives us access to understanding different dimensions of God and brings us closer to Him. Revelation increases our faith in God as we study God’s word (Romans 10:17). We can exercise our faith in different things and through our experiences of manifestation of God in our lives and others, we become mature in the things of God. For instance, there was a time I only had faith for my healing but as time goes on in my walk with God, my faith grew that I can trust God to use me to heal others. There are examples in God’s word to teach us that our faith needs to grow both for spiritual and physical things. In today’s reading, Paul instructs Timothy to keep his instructions until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ, a day God will bring Himself. He described God in powerful ways that should ignite our faith. God is the King of kings, Lord of lords, and Immortal who lives in unapproachable light. Our heavenly Father is undefeatable, and He is the King and the Lord over all things. He is infinite, the Alpha and Omega; the All-Powerful who was, and who is and is to come. Thus, we can rely on Him and we can trust Him because He keeps His word. Dear friends, take a deliberate step to know God deeper today by studying and abiding by His word. Always remember that you cannot operate beyond the level of your revelation and knowledge of God you have.
