Remember God
But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day Deut. 8:18 (KJV)
Bible Reading: Deut. 8:11-18
Most times, when people use the words ‘Remember’ and ‘God’, it is often in the context of making petitions and asking for God’s intervention in their situation, often saying things like “God, remember me”. However, in today’s devotional, we will be considering another meaning of this two words. We want to examine the need for us God’s children to remember God, particularly in our finances. Due to the current state of the world and the Covid-19 pandemic, many have lost their means of livelihoods, businesses have been shut down and many have fallen into a state of depression. As a result, people are desperate for a change, they are willing to do anything by all means to get out of their horrible situation. But, today’s word is a call for us to remember God, remember that God is faithful, remember that God is kind, remember that God is with you, remember that God is the one who gives us power to make wealth. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
There is a power associated to making wealth, and that power only comes from God. He can bless your little effort and make it a mighty ocean. He can turn your situation around for good in the twinkle of an eye. Desperate desire to get money by all means without due consideration for righteousness is sinful and brings sorrow. Remember, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (1Timothy 6:10). God bless you real good.
Daily Confession: I choose to deal in righteousness in my finance. May God bless my finance in Jesus name.
Action Point: Remember God’s promises when your situation feels unpleasant, do not room to the devil.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s blessing upon the finances of your family, friends, missionaries, the church of God, and your country.
Hymns: Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost.
