Rewarded Service
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain. I Corinthians 15:58
Bible Reading: Hebrew 6:10
As I write this study, I just received good news from some brethren that we have been praying and trusting God concerning certain things in their lives. We have prayed, and fasted together; in fact, we have searched God’s word to strengthen our faith, after all, faith comes by the word of God (Romans 10:17). There were times that I was discouraged but God kept encouraging me through His word, “My grace is sufficient for you to support and encourage those in need”, so be devoted.
Reward is sweet, isn’t it? The reward I speak of is not material things or earthly favour but it is the joy of fulfilment that fills one’s heart when brethren share testimonies of their progress that you have co-laboured and trusted God for. The thanksgiving unto God, the joy of fulfilling a divine assignment, the testimonies that seal their blessings, and also the encouragement for other brethren are real. As shepherd, parents, and brethren etc, it is important that we learn to hold-on to God’s word with and for others. Don’t give up even if the going gets tough, rather stay immovable, without fear or doubt. Stand firm and tenaciously believe God for yourself and for others. Be vigilant in prayer for the brethren, and believe and trust God for their testimonies. Always remember, the labour of your love will never go unrewarded, therefore, do all things cheerfully as unto the Lord.
Self-Reflection: In what ways can I be a source of encouragement to others?
Action Point: Pick someone that you can constantly intercede on their behalf concerning a need in their life
Daily Confession: Lord thank You for fulfilling Your word in the lives of Your people, help us to remain supportive of one another and to hold-on to you till the end.
Intercessory prayer: Intercede for that person
Hymn: ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
