Serving God’s Purpose (II)

“…the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever.” I John 2:17

Bible Reading: I John 2:17

Serving God’s purpose means doing what pleases Him. Why do we need to serve God’s purpose? First, we were created to serve God. Knowing one’s purpose is essential to relevance. God seeks true worshippers who will workship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Our duty is to fear God and obey His commands (Ecclesiates 12:13). This means that this is our responsibility– a divine task that we have been given everything needed to perform this duty (2 Peter 1:3). Secondly, according to our memory verse today, the one do does the will of God and carries out what pleases God will live forever. Our eternity is secured if we have accepted Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and daily live in obedience to Him. Dear friends, serve the Lord with all your might.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s leading, wisdom and grace for effective ministry for your leaders.
