Serving God’s Purpose (III)

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 (NIV)

Bible Reading: Matthew 16:24-27

To serve God’s purpose would require self-denial. There is a price to pay. For instance, it will require denying oneself of food for some time in order to spend time to study God’s word and pray. It might mean spending our resources such as money and time for the purpose of sharing the gospel and showing God’s love. It might require leaving our comfort zone for the sake of God’s kingdom. It is a thing of joy when we serve God’s purpose and through our choices and sacrifices, souls are won to the Kingdom of God. Dear friends, Jesus clearly says that whoever wants to be His disciple must deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him. The question is, are you ready to obey Jesus’ command?

Daily Confession: I choose to serve your purpose in my generation in Jesus’ name.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for God’s leading, wisdom and grace for effective ministry in your home.

Hymn: I have decided to follow Jesus,

I have decided to follow Jesus,

I have decided to follow Jesus,

No turning back, no turning back
