Start Afresh

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentation 3:23-23

Bible Reading: Luke 15:12-32

Each day is an opportunity to start afresh. God’s faithfulness is new every day and He invites us to accept it all. That we can breathe is God’s gift to us to start afresh or continue in Him no matter the circumstances. Apostle Paul understands this very truth when he writes: ‘By the grace of God I am what I am’ (1 Corinthians 15:10a). God’s loving kindness means that he is good and kind all the time no matter what. 

Our Bible reading today shows this exact truth. The parable of the prodigal son speaks of God as our loving Heavenly Father who accepts us anytime when we come to Him. Like the prodigal son did when he came to his senses, he returned to his father in total repentance and surrender. He turned from his waywardness and his father accepted Him because of love.

Dear friends, no matter your situation, do not hear the lies of the enemy. God loves you and He is giving you a fresh start today. Come to God; repent and forsake your old ways, believe in Jesus’ redemption and receive His forgiveness and you will be reconciled with God and have peace.

Daily Confession: I receive God’s steadfast love in Jesus name.

Intercessory Prayer: I pray for God’s peace across the world in Jesus name.
