The Faithful and Truthful God

The Lord your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land. Joshua 1:13b

Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 3:12-20

In the midst of preparing for and planning to cross overand take possession of the land of Jordan, Joshua reminded the people about God’s faithfulness and truthfulness to His word. I imagine the children of Israel getting ready for the journey to the promised land, in fear and doubt especially due to the death of Moses. There was a need to encourage the people of through God’s word. Joshua’s statement is a testimony that reveals thatwhatever God says He will do. Surely, He will do it for He is neither a man that should lie nor a son of man that He should repent (Numbers 23:19).

God is encouraging a user of this devotional today – whether you are trusting God for breakthrough in the area of your finance, marriage, and employment — that Godwill bring His words to pass because He is a faithful God. Prior to this time, Moses divided the land among the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh but also commanded them to work together with the other tribes so that they can take possession of their own land too. Joshua reminded the people of the past victory to strengthen their faith and also for the people to obey Moses’ command as they prepared to take possession of the land. Testimony can be a powerful tool to stir the faith of others especially when used with the right intention and under the right atmosphere. Dear friends, be encouraged – God is faithful and truthful and He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Action Point: Take few minutes to appreciate God for His faithfulness in your life.

Daily Confession: Lord, I thank you for Your faithfulness and truthfulness. I will trust and obey You till the end.

Intercessory prayer: I pray for those trusting you for specific needs in their lives that you show them your faithfulness in Jesus name.

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will, He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey.
