The King of Glory

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah Psalm 24:6

Bible Reading: Psalm 24:7-10

The last part of this passage brings us right to where we started, Jesus Christ. In whose authority can ancient gates and everlasting doors be opened except in the name of the Lord? Who has the power to set free except Jesus Christ? In whose name can we win battles of life except in Christ Jesus? Beyond warfare which many have used Psalm 24 for, the passage points us to the amazing freedom and undeniable glory in Jesus Christ. This is because He has become our righteousness and through Him, we have access to all things because ‘for from Him [all things originate] and through Him [all things live and exist] and to Him are all things [directed]. To Him be glory and honor forever! Amen’ Romans 11:36 (AMP). Our attention should be on Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith. The psalmist foretold the victory and deliverance we have in Jesus Christ as He would come and save His people from death. And He did! Jesus Christ delivered us from sin and the Adamic nature. The door of our heart that was impenetrable and locked up in sin can now receive God-kind of life that is only possible in Jesus Christ because He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). In fact, Jesus said ‘Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me’ (Revelations 3:20).

I encourage you to open your heart to receive by faith the amazing grace found in Jesus Christ and you can boldly declare for ourselves, family, nations, and countries etc ‘lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle’ (Psalm 24:7-8).

Daily Confession: May Jesus be the centre of my attraction. May every ancient gate and everlasting O open up in my life, family, city, country, and across the nations of the world open up for the King of glory to come in. who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty‚ he is the King of glory.

Intercessory prayer: I pray against any plan of the enemy against God’s people in Jesus’ name.

Hymn: Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
