The Lord’s Day
This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)
Bible Reading: Psalm 118
Our Bible reading today is an amazing rendition of God’s faithfulness from a grateful heart. The psalmist started by admonishing the reader to give thanks to God for He is Lord over all things. The psalmist provided different reasons why God is worthy of our praise. God is merciful and He shows His love to His children, including the children of Israel. God is a prayer answering God. He hears our prayer whenever we call upon Him. He satisfies our needs and also disciplines us in order to prune us to be who He wants us to be. It is important to daily acknowledge God’s sovereignty because the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1). We have to recognize that every day belongs to the Lord. Like the psalmist says, ‘this is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it’. Knowing that God made our day should give us a level of assurance that God is in charge of all things no matter the situation. This understanding should guide our daily pursuit and help our faith get rooted in God and stronger because He owns all things and He is the Lord of all. The assurance that God’s creative power made the day should cause us to rejoice and be glad because joy is not based on the things happening around us but on the assurance of who God is. Dear friends, no matter what you are passing through, I encourage you to rejoice in the Lord daily. Be glad for every day that God gives you the opportunity to see and use each day for His glory.
Daily Confession: Heavenly Father, thank you for your amazing love and grace. I rejoice in today because you made it and all things answer to you in Jesus name, amen.
Intercessory prayer: Pray for humans who have been trafficked and trusting God for deliverance for God’s intervention and freedom from the wickedness of their fellow human being and the system that support such devilish act.
Song: Sing a song you love unto God
