The Resurrection Power
But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. (Romans 8:10-11, NIV)
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15
Jesus Christ, our resurrected King, has delivered us from the dominion of darkness into the kingdom of light. He went to the cross for our redemption, and because He lives, we are alive unto righteousness. The Holy Spirit is given unto us just as Jesus promised. In addition to eternal life, the implication of Christ’s resurrection is that the same power (that is, the Holy Spirit) that raised Christ from the dead is available to us. We can host and be carriers of God’s presence. In our Bible reading today, Apostle Paul speaks of the validity of Christ’s resurrection. We would be most miserable if Jesus did not die and rose again. Because He rose on the third day, we can be effective witnesses of the kingdom of God we represent because He has given us His power. Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12). Dear friend, is the resurrection power at work in your life?
