The Word of God

I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. (Psalm 119:10)

Bible Reading: Psalm 119

King David, the writer of Psalm 119 spent significant time on the word of God. God’s word is central to our growth and Psalm 119 is dedicated to what it means to be word-conscious. It is not a coincidence that Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the book of Psalms and even the entire Bible. There are amazing nuggets about God’s word in this chapter. For instance, King David writes: “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.” (Psalm 119:9). He continues: “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11). Dear friends, God’s word is the basis for any significant achievement in the kingdom of God. I encourage you to seek God with all your heart and He will not let you stray from His commands (Psalm 119:10). Spend quality time with the word of God and your life will not remain the same.

Action Point: Read Psalm 119

Intercessory prayer: I pray for fresh hunger for God’s word in the lives of my family members and friends.

Hymn: We have an anchor that keeps the soul
steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!
