White Lie

To his neighbor each one speaks words without use or worth or truth; with flattering lips and double heart [deceitfully] they speak. Psalm 12:2 (AMP)

Bible Reading: Psalm 12

God’s standard cannot be compromised because God’s foundation stands sure. However, the world’s standard has packaged her system to contradict God’s principles. For example, the Ten Commandments given to Moses have been compromised. For instance, idolatry, adultery, fornication, and greed etc. have packaged in an enticing way to the point that we defend it in the world system. Jesus’ summation of the commandment into two is meant to direct our attention towards God and reciprocate God’s love to others.

White lie is considered as a harmless or trivial lie. Although God sees lie the way it is, human beings have decided to compromise by simply creating new standards below or contrary to that of God. God never categorized sin, it is an abominable before Him and Christ Jesus died to save us from the weight and life of sin. Dear friends, do you have your own standard of what is sin and what it is not? Here’s God’s standard: “But the firm foundation of God stands sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it”. (2 Timothy 2:19)

Self-Reflection: God’s standard is sure, be wise to follow it.

Action Point: In what ways have you compromised God’s standard?

Daily Confession: Lord, have mercy on me in ways I have compromised Your standard and turn my heart to follow Your ways.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for your city that every appetite for sin will be far removed from God’s people.
