You Need Jesus Christ!

Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Bible Reading:  2 Timothy 3

You need Jesus, yes, you! If there is a time you need God most, it is now! First, all have sin and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The implications and results of man’s fall is evident in every aspect of our lives. For instance, the turn of events in the world has shown us the need for God. The vanity of life has never been so obvious like now. In Paul’s words, ‘This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” 2 Timothy 3:1. ‘We are at the end of the end’ someone said. The things Apostle Paul warned Timothy about are happening. Secondly, because man fell, self has taken over. Although there is nothing good the flesh that can come out of the flesh (Romans 7:18), the rate at which self is centered these days is unbelievable.

Also, rebellion against God is in almost every aspect of human existence and gaining ground in every nation both secretly and publicly. We now see male and female embrace unnatural affections (Romans 1:25-27), corruption, unrighteousness and  vile affection. Apostle Paul puts it like this: ‘Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools’ (Romans 1:20-22).

Furthermore, there is so much uncertainty, anxiety, fear and its implications on people’s mental health because the Prince of Peace has been rejected. Prophesying about the birth of Jesus Christ, prophet Isaiah writes: ‘For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace’ (Isaiah 9:6). Amidst all these, the increasing rate of poverty, human trafficking, and other wickedness is alarming. Finally, the impact of the global pandemic continues to ravage our world and we have nowhere else to turn to except Jesus Christ both individually and corporately.

Dear friends, you need Jesus Christ. If you can allow Jesus into your life and hand over the control of your life to Him, your life will never remain the same. It does not mean all the problems in your life or in the world will come to an end, rather it means you have the Prince of Peace on your side who will give you peace and help you through it all. You need to ‘confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him [Jesus Christ] from the dead, [and] you will be saved’ (Romans 10:9).

Daily Confession: Lord Jesus I repent of my sins, confess and believe in my heart that you died for me on the Cross of Calvary. I ask you to come into my life, amen.

Action point: If you have sincerely prayed this prayer, I congratulate you. You have made the most important decision in your life. I encourage you to identify and start attending a Bible believing church around you. God bless you.

Intercessory prayer: Pray for family members, friends and colleagues who are yet to know Jesus Christ.

Song: Lord, I need You, oh I need You
Every hour, I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
